LUIS SUAREZ SEEKING AN AMICABLE AGREEMENT OVER EXIT FROM LIVERPOOL!...

Luis Suarez is seeking an "amicable agreement" as he looks to engineer an exit from Liverpool this summer.

The Uruguay international believes the Anfield club has reneged on an agreement made last year that he would be allowed to leave the club if the Reds failed to qualify for the Champions League. Liverpool finished seventh in Brendan Rodgers' first season in charge, and Suarez has subsequently pushed for a move to Arsenal, who attempted to trigger his 40 million pound release clause with a bid of 40,000,001.

Asked if he would look to put in a transfer request, Suarez told Marca: "My idea is to reach an amicable agreement and that they honor the clauses that we agreed a year ago.

"At the moment they aren't doing that."

The ongoing saga left Rodgers to declare that the 26-year-old Suarez had shown "total disrespect" to the club.

Suarez also revealed that he agreed to spend last season at Anfield, despite receiving an offer from an unnamed Champions League club.

"[Last year] We had an offer from a club in the Champions League," Suarez said. "I looked at the situation with my agent and they told me a new coach was arriving and that the club would push hard for a place in Europe.

"We agreed to renew the contract with a new clause: If we didn't qualify for the Champions League I would be able to leave if an offer for more than 40 million pounds came in.

"The option we have is from a team in the Champions League who are pushing hard for me."
